Impromptu puppy petting party. The kids were over the moon!
Disclaimer: April was a rough month, my computer stopped allowing me to download photos, and I’m now trying to go back and post for every day in April. It isn’t happening easily. I’m absolutely using photos from a few, heavily photographed days to be able to continue my 365 project. Such is life.

You mean your family doesn’t do a full-blown pizza making party in the back yard with flour flying everywhere and hot pizzas sliding out every ten minutes?

He’s like the Queen of Hearts except he’s paintin’ em white and they’re peach trees not roses.

The neighborhood Easter festivities were EGG-cellent.

Two kids made it out of the woods. Three others took their sweet time and were almost presumed lost.

Days upon days upon days of rain. It just won’t stop. My floors have traces of muddy footprints throughout the entire first floor and a growing pile of completely dirt encased shoes grows by the back door. “Mom! I’m done playing outside!” has to be accompanied by a careful strip down, shower, and load of laundry.

Our delight in all the warm weather was punished resoundingly and Persephone reminded us that April is a fickle fiend. It’s been so cold, our radiators kicked back on and we all had to go mournfully hunting for long sleeves. The boys refused to let this keep them down and spent days hunched in the rain, with the added help of a hose, creating dinosaur kingdoms in the mud. Many loads of laundry were done and done again while the mud patch around the Bradford Pear grew larger and larger.

Spring has truly sprung, with all the vibrant colors only April can produce. Lime green leaves fluffing out the trees, pink blossoms falling everywhere, and purple carpet flowers popping up out of the garden overnight. It’s wonderful.

A likes to pretend he’s all cool and only into Minecraft or Legos, but he can’t help being delighted by the girls’ “baby” toys when backs are turned.
