Always gathering big sticks, always leaving them piled by my front door.

Easter feels incredibly late. Maybe it’s due to how warm February and March were, with sunshine and bees buzzing and tank tops pulled out. Or possibly it’s because this, being the third year of gardening, means my plants are all blossoming faster and thicker. Or maybe I’m just very, very ready for Lent to be over. I never actually pulled out any of my spring decor (primarily faux, spring blossoms) and by the time Easter hits they’ll feel like old news. I’m kind of okay with that and with keeping it simple this year. My house feels overwhelmingly full right now and I’m excited to toss all my real plants on the porch the second we’re in the clear of frost warnings, get a certain group of baby chicks into an outside coop, and throw all the windows open once the pollen has finished torturing us.

Blossom blizzard in March. Every time the wind gusts blew, thousands of pedals spun through the air. Within minutes of this photo, the storm broke and rain came pelting down.

The girls know how to “double flip” on the climbing dome from their time spent in gymnastics and the boys are flabbergasted and jealous and can’t figure out how they do it without hurting their stomachs. It’s hilarious.

Rocking out to classic rock in the early morning.

There’s an unspoken competition among the kids to see who can climb the highest. Every time friends pop over, everyone makes a run for the ol’ Bradford Pear (yes, I know how gross these trees are and yes, it’s definitely going to be chopped down one day) and so far L has been winning. But E deeeefinitely gave him a run for his money!

When Tetis has evening dental association meetings, the kids eat charcuterie for dinner and get an early movie night.

Life with a stubborn three-year-old means she has her own car just for the 1 block commute between houses.

Deep discussions on the rules of Minecraft.
