A Pattern of Words

One photograph a day to make the world spin a little slower.

  • I’ve started keeping games all over the house, finally realizing they don’t get played when they’re tucked neatly in the basement. Game pieces are constantly being found on the floor, but – major win! – this also means kids are constantly playing with them!

  • Six days out of the week, she and her cousin are joined at the hip. Then along comes that random morning when, from the second she wakes up, she informs me that “Nope, I don’t want R” and spends the entire day playing by herself. Gotta love a girl who knows what she wants (and needs).

  • “yanka yanka!” (how my kids still ask for a “ranka” (hand) because they’re too lazy to roll the “r”)

  • This floor is probably the most used space in the entire house.

  • Don’t try to make this girl walk the two blocks from her house to ours – you’ll regret it quickly. Always the bike. (maybe one day she’ll actually start wearing a helmet, too)

  • Puppy-dog pileup.

  • Shoes on, shoes off, shoes by the door, shoes getting bits of dirt everywhere, shoes that need help fastening, shoes that need to be washed again, shoes that don’t fit after three wears, shoes that somehow get jammed on even when they’re three sizes too small. This is my life right now.

  • One of my character flaws is getting museum memberships, but forgetting to use them. I’m proud to say we’ve managed to go to the art museum’s children’s’ room TWICE this year already. If I manage a third time, someone get me a prize.

  • She would be my child to get a facial tattoo.

  • Flashback to watering plants with Myma.
