  • Rounds of early morning chess with Tete.

  • Her leaps of excitement that she got to walk N to ballet, but didn’t have to stay herself. (…and is it too cold to be wearing shorts? Yes, yes it is. Can I convince her to wear pants? Hardly ever.)

  • Washing the dishes for me, completely unprompted. Guys, I think the peak parenting era is (finally) arriving!

  • Once the time changes, walking to Cub Scout meetings involve headlamps, glow bracelets, and warmer clothes.

  • My sister hates kid crafting messes and her children inevitably come to my house to make messes here instead. (thanks)

  • Caught mid-lunch prep.

  • “Look, put these sweaters over your jammies and just smile and I’ll give you a piece of candy for breakfast.” – me, when trying to put together Christmas cards

  • The Grand Dame herself.

  • E took ballet for an entire month before declaring vehemently that she HATED ballet and didn’t want to ever do it again. N still loved her classes, though, and I enjoy being able to walk her there.

  • First Halloween in many many years that V was home and able to fully participate!
