A Pattern of Words

One photograph a day to make the world spin a little slower.

  • Putting up lights is a V job and I love that.

  • Home depot coming in clutch with possibly the prettiest tree we’ve ever gotten. Even if the guy wrapping it up was kind of cranky and the kids were acting like we fed them espresso beans for breakfast. Here’s P acting like he didn’t know us.

  • We attempted to get a Christmas tree from a real farm this year, but apparently came on the worst day ever. They had a total of two trees left (both of which had weird bald patches) and their next section of trees for cutting wasn’t opening until a few days later.

  • It kept snowing and snowing for two days and it was wonderful. Except for the endless loads of laundry and on-again-off-again snow gear situation.

  • When you get a completely unexpected and wonderfully festive December snowfall, OBVIOUSLY you need to greet it….barefoot. Oh is this just a weird thing my kids do? Okay, then.

  • A last portrait of a boy and his cat. RIP Trixie.

  • The long awaited moment: pulling out the Christmas train, switching the engine to the Harry Potter cars, and getting everything in working order.

  • Even the dentist needs his teeth checked occasionally.

  • Early morning warming seat.

  • Trying out her new comforter.
